A/C won't turn off, the fan won't go higher or lower, niether will the temp, can't defrost or anything. the controls for the a/c are not working.no vagcodes either. any ideas?

I had the same problem the other morning. I took the unit out and sprayed every contact I could get to w/ contact cleaner. It seem the previous owner spilled coke/coffee down the face of it. Been working fine for a week now.
