This can not be good!!!....pulled these codes
Hi guys,
My car is a 2000 a4 1.8t quattro and currently is sitting at 180,000 kms. I was driving it recently when all of a sudden it started to hesitate pretty bad and almost stall out, I pulled over to the side of the road and noticed a slight knocking sound so I shut her down and had it towed to a dealership. They think it is a can tensioner that has given out, but couldn't pull the codes till i disconnected my aftermarket cd player........
Here are the codes I pulled:
16687-misfire cyl #3
16688-misfire cyl#4
16685-misfire cyl#1
16686-misfire cyl#2
16684-misfire any cyl
18010-power supply low
17522(?)......my code book doesnt even show this :S
Any idea on what could be the cause of this and really how bad is it?
Thanks, JC

Looks to me like low voltage running into the coilpacks resulting in misfires... Also could be a grounding issue? I'd do plugs, and reseat all the electrical connectors.Clean the contact points on any electrical junctions at the coil packs and clear the codes and check again... That's where I'd START.
Hope it gets you rolling in the riht direction,
Ryan
