Angry Can't catch a break

So as many of you may know, I recently had my trunk lid bashed in by a wayward snowplow. I finally got the car in for the paint and picked it up Wednesday of last week. I knew it was going to be difficult for the shop to blend the new pearl paint with the old, but I believe they pulled it off. I have to realign the trunk lid a little better, but all in all I am satisfied with the result:

Well, fast-forward to this past Saturday, the first really nice weekend the North-East has had in a while. I decide to give the old girl a wash and I notice this abortion on my hood and front bumper:

Yup that is sliver/grey paint that freckles the entire front of my car. Keep in mind the only clean part of my car when I picked it up was from the rear passenger doors back. The front was still dirty as hell . The shop was nice enough to give me a voucher for a car wash from a local place .

I , like may hate taking my car to a car wash and prefer to do the job myself. Which is why it took so long to notice the paint issue. I have already called the shop and told them I would be by first thing Monday morning, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed to see if they own up to the mistake. Knowing my luck, they will give me some B.S. about not finding it sooner.

They did a good job with the blending though. I could hardly even tell they did anything at all.

Yeah, I think they did an awesome job out back. Not too thrilled with them not covering my car if they were going to spray near it.

I know they aren't rock chips ( I'll admit that's what I first thought until I looked closer after washing the front of my car)

I'm just hoping that the shop doesn't dick me around because:
a) I didn't notice this when I picked up the car or
b) hope they don't suggest this happened elsewhere

My concern is they should have been more careful....now I have to drop the car off again for something that should never have occurred.

yeah i know you know Andrew said they were but yeah when i worked at a body shop that happen twice from when people didn't cover up the cars you should be able to go back and they will either buff it off clay bar or have to repaint the car i hope they don't try to make you pay for it it was their fault so don't back down but they did do a really good blending

I appreciate your insight. I did notice that their working area was rather cramped to say the least. They got some on the headlight as well, I hope however they plan on fixing the issue, they don't damage the housing in the process.

Quick question then......if they don't have to spray the hood and bumper, is this something they can complete in a day? I have an extremely busy week coming up and this is the last thing I need to put up with.

Damn. That sucks.

Fortunately a simply claying and polishing should take care of this. So it's most likely not the end of the world if they don't own up to it.
