1997 1.8t. It usually starts up normal in the mornings and sometimes when I get off work and start my car, its VERY rough, the car shakes, but idels fine and there is no other problems, only happens when i get off work, very weird. Any ideas???

My car shakes when the a/c is on or when the SAP kicks in. I don't know if that's normal or what. Are your vacuum lines in good shape or do you have a CEL?

 

yeah everythings in good shape, and its just when i start it up sometimes, not when the ac is on. And CEL?

more than likely crank position sensor, right by oil filter, about 70 bones to fix if you are handy

 

my check engine light isnt on either, I checked some local parts stores and their about $120- 150 for a cps, i dont wanna spend that much if its not the cps, how likely is it?

 

sounds exactly like what mine did, but is there times it just won't start?

oh itll start just fine, but its literally every day i get off work now, its just very odd i know. I found them on the internet as well for cheap too, i thought id just try the local parts places
