Car not reversing after engine bay wash!!
Hey guys,
I realize now that I did a stupid thing. I over-enthusiastically washed my engine bay with some pressure wash and de-greaser. Also, later, I changed the valve head gasket and the spark Plugs. Now, my car does not go into reverse, or gear # 2 & 4. But it runs fine in Drive or gear #3. It goes into neutral and parking as well. When I bring the shiftstick into Reverse, the LED indicator shows 'Neutral' and simply jumps from Parking to Neutral and then Drive and then #2. It is freakin' me out!! I did some online search and realized that I may have put forced water into a '?sensor' which can be dried off by blowing air on it?? If yea, does anyone know where that sensor is located? I have AT.
Any more ideas/thoughts are welcome.
Thanks -- Bix

NEVER USE A PRESSURE WASHER ON YOUR ENGINE OR TRANSMISSION. It forces water into all the seals and gaskets. Next time use a steam cleaner. I declare this an Epic Fail. Someone give me a visual aid please.
As for the sensor, when you find it use crystalized kitty litter (the non-dusty stuff), it'll suck all the water out of whatever you enthusiastically power-drenched. You may have also forced water into some of your wiring harnesses.

LOL.....THAT WAS A GREAT INSIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Awesome...What to say!! It was simply a garden hose kindda pressure...
Anyways..Just saw the Black Industries guy who checked with VAG tool. There are no fault codes in particular but says its probably the MFS. He says most likely I will have to replace the MFS but rarely, it may come back (if it works after it dries)....
I jacked up the car and looked underneath..there was water dripping out of the MFS connector which I cleaned and air-dried but without any success!!!
I think I can either open up the entire MFS and try to blow dry it or else.....CHANGE IT and get the BURLINGTON NORTHERN BACK ON TRACKS.......!!!

Also, I just checked DIY on Audiworld for MFS install at the following link.
http://www.audiworld.com/tech/eng.html
Can anyone tell me what does the author (Nate) mean when he says (just after the 3rd pic) "Start your replacement by safely supporting your car with jack stands and properly supporting the transmission so you can remove the mount".
How do I support transmission to remove the mount??
Be a part of the relief team for this epic fail

Tx Starfish...
So, I can basically have the car up on 4 jack stands. I do not think I will need any other kind of support? right?
Just assuring myself since I do not want to create a whole lot of trouble again....
I am just in the planning stage in case the MFS does not come back in 3-5 days.....
