i just replaced my o2 sensor cuz had a cel on for over a week, after i was done the cel stayed on. i disconnected the negative on the battery for about 10 minutes, it still stayed on after that. do i need to get the codes reset and see if the cel comes back?

 

10 min and it didnt reset? hmm...try a little longer. If that doesn't work, then (a) you need to have your codes reset (b) you might have another CEL for something else.

 

If it's not trying to reset it again, it might be your cat because you only replaced the O2 sensors. I believe it goes, O2 sensor, other O2 sensor, then once those are ruled out, it's your cat. If you need to pass inspection, I would suggest adding a fuel treatment and driving conservatively.

 

i passed smog no problems 2 months ago, i had a code for a bad camshaft positioning sensor too so that might be it. ill get it scanned again
