Default Changing Tire Size Potential Problems?

Hey guys I have a 2001 A4 1.8t and have been wanting to change the wheels for ages since I'm not a huge fan of them. So I finally found a decent deal on some older S4 rims and was thinking about getting them. But they are 16" rims. Here's the add if you want to check it out: 2006 Audi A4 Wheels w/ pirelli winter tires

But I was worried about any potential problems that changing the size could cause. Like mileage and the odometer. So please enlighten me

Thanks

no problems at all with those wheels they are same as stock. Thoose are snow tires so driving around in not snowy conditions will kill the tires quickly because they are soft.

^ All of that. You won't have to worry about speedometer issues till you hit 19"+ probably.

Okay thanks guys! What do you think I should pay for them? They're asking 500 on the ad, and want to try and save some moneys.

Also, this will fit my A4 right? I can't see why not but I want to make sure, like width and whatnot.

Yessir they wil fit. I got 17x8" whide rims on mine. Everything will fit stock ride height. Id try to pay $400 depending on amount of tread left and condition of rims. I had to get hubcentric rings. I dont know if you will have to.

Soooo it ends up these rims did not fit my car. I got to the guys house and lifted my car to try and put them on but, the circle around the axle bolt was too wide for my car. I don't really know how to explain it but it basically has like a concave curve around it like my wheels do but it comes in too quickly. I really don't know how to describe it but if you know what I mean and can help me out please do.

Thanks

That's the hub bore. Must be that the older S4 had an incompatible bore with the B5. Honestly for $500 you can get 17s or 18s with tires if you search. I only paid $700 for my 19s with new tires (I got lucky but it still counts). No way I'd pay $500 for old 16s.

That doesn't make much sense.. Up until the b8's A4's and S4's, B5-B7 had 57.1mm Hub bore right?

OP, is your car Quattro or FWD?

If they're 16" and OEM S4, then they'd have to be something before a B5. Wonder of you were given a line of crap just to sell the wheels. All B5 S4s had factory 17s.

because S4 brakes won't fit behind 16s
