Charging Issue
#11
One thing at a time. As long as your working on what the car says the problem is, your going in the right direction. My girlfriends b6 would start and run momentarily and then stall, but was fine if you feathered the gas a bit on start. Had no CEL so I had to just use process of elimination. Motor needs air/fuel/spark to run so that's where I started, ended up being the fuel filter that was causing the issue.

Finally got my car back. It was the alternator after all. Here in Jacksonville, the mechanics avoid conventional wisdom and go strictly with the codes. It starts and runs but it's misfiring on all cylinders for the call out.
It's been doing this for years and I finally decided to call Speed Tuning (got my car chipped a couple of years back in a group buy). I told them about the misfiring and informed them that I had a high flow cat put in as well. Apparently, because of the cat my O2 sensor is identifying to much air which is messing up the fuel/air ratio. He said I need to mail my ECU back to the company and have them update the software killing the rear O2 sensor.
Has anyone done this? Also, is there anyone in the northern Florida region that can do this? I really don't feel like shelling out another $175 and 2 extra days of my car being out of commission if there are other options.
KDaviou, thanks for all of your help so far.
