Check Engine Light: PO411 NEED HELP ASAP!
Hello,
My check engine light came on today and I went to AutoZone and I got the following reading: PO411/secondary air inj sys incorrect flow. I was just wondering if anyone knew what this is. I noticed that my car has been driving a little bit rough and that it idles a little bit worse. Basically, it feels like the transmission is missing or hesitating. Would this cause it? And also the INSP indicator came on at the same time. Please let me know if you know what the problem is and also the cost. THANKS EVERYONE!
**And then I took it to a local repair shop and they said its the Spark Plugs but there is no guarantee and they want $400 for this so I just picked up the car for now. Basically, I am thinking it could be the spark plugs which are about $100 or so for the kit. Is this an easy INSTALL? AND PLEASE LET ME KNOW YOUR THOUGHTS TO WHAT THIS COULD BE.
**THANKS SO MUCH EVERYONE!

There is a lot of information on that code that you can find through the search, but I'll save you some worry in the meantime. It's not a big deal, that pump is only for emissions on cold starts. It won't have anything to do with the spark plugs or the transmission. Which engine do you have? There are several DIYs for changing your own spark plugs and as long as you have the right tools, it shouldn't take you longer than 30 minutes your first time doing it. Check www.audidiy.com or the AudiWorld tech articles. There isn't a kit for installing spark plugs, you just buy however many you need and a spark plug socket for your socket wrench (and a socket wrench if you don't have one). Bad spark plugs can definitely cause your car to idle roughly. Also, do a search for "seafoam".

Dude, either you misunderstood or you need a new mechanic.

I have the V6 2.8 Quattro and if it is not the spark plugs, then what do you suggest doing?

20squared.com has a block off plate and a resistor. This replaces the pump all together and seals the system up and the resistor keeps a CEL from coming on. My SAI sounds like an airplane taking off every fuc*ing morning!! i don't have to pass emissions so i'm doing it next weekend.
400 for spark plugs, i'd recommend going back to that shop and telling them you'd rather be raped by a grizzly. spark plugs take an after noon to change and they only cost like 60 for good ones. wut kind of plug kit are you talking about? plus plugs don't have anything to do with secondary air flow lol. that's the difference between people who know cars and people who know audis. there are those in between but please avoid geting work done at that shop you're talking about. it could be a cracked hose or it could be the pump. the pump should be on the passenger side in the front. it's totally black and if you imagine your oil filter on the driver's side, it's basically the mirror image on the passenger side but much bigger lol. the insp thing is just an indication that comes on every 10k to tell you that you should take your car to the dealership to get raped by 2 grizzlies. idk wut year your car is but here's how you reset it on the 98-99 http://www.audiworld.com/tech/elec.html for 99.5+ hold down both things on the cluster and cycle your power.

Does the 20squared kit remove the incorrect flow CEL? I've heard it makes the ECU think the pump is just there still but you still get the incorrect flow.
