Default Check my ECU for a chip

Okay, facts:

Previous owner bought a Wetterauer chip in 2001, had it installed.
Down the road, he hit a pothole, car stopped running.
Took it to the local Audi dealer, they ended up replacing his ECU.
They gave him the chip that was attached to his ECU.
NOT SURE IF THE LOOSE CHIP I HAVE IS WETTERAUER OR NOT.

How do I go about checking the ECU to see if it has the stock chip or the Wetterauer chip? I did a quick Google and found instructions for removing the ECU from a B5 Passat, just wanted to double check that these instructions will also work for a B5 A4.

Also, does anybody have a Wetterauer chipped ECU? I have the original paperwork from the previous owner's purchase and the Wetterauer dealer he bought it from is no longer active in North America. Is there a Wetterauer dealer anymore or have they just packed up shop and decided to stay across the pond?

Thanks

A Wetterauer chip should look like the picture I attached below. Hope it helps you out.
