Clicking from left front wheel

Default Clicking from left front wheel

I have this clicking sound from the font left wheel some times when im driving. Then it goes away. I thought it was a CV joint so I checked the boot and it had a small tear. Took it to the shop to get changed and there was still a good amount of grease in there and they said my axles and joints were fine. The clicking happens after i turn the wheel sharp and then it comes and goes when im driving straight. Any suggestions. Thanks

clicking sounds usually mean that the axel is bad[:@]

If it was the axle wouldn't it click all the time

Nope. Does it click when you turn one way or will it do it either way you turn?
BTW how long has this been doing it for? Since you got it? The previous owner could have rebooted, which still wont fix the clicking problem.

Clicking will usually go away when you re-grease the joint and put a new boot on it. Trust me, it doesn't take very long after the boot has been torn for the joint to start clicking. Just get a new boot kit, clean the joint in a solvent tank/ re-grease it and put the boot kit on. It'll only cost you 35 bucks if you DIY and if that doesn't work,then replace the axle. However, if you don't have the skills to DIY, buying an axle from purems.com will save you a s**tload in labor at a garage. Plus, it'll have a lifetime warranty.

Never knew the first part. I always heard once the axle clicked it was gone. Raxles.com is a very good choice as well. I used them when my joint was clicking.

Yeah i got a new boot put on. It doesnt do it when I turn it is after i turn real sharp sometimes.

You should always try to refrain from turning sharply in our cars, especially under load. Just go a little out of the way to not turn so sharply and you should be fine.

just my 2 cents, if you repalced the boot but you still ahve a click check your brakes and see if the anti rattle clip is still on, my car made teh same cv joint clicking noise when the clip fell out.
