Unhappy Climate Control Not Blowing cold air anymore..

Hey,
it's been like this for a week now. It's around 30 degrees Celsius (86 F) outside and when I turn on the climate control and put it to lower temps (eg 21.5C in the car), the car blows warmish air..
It was working perfectly one week ago, I even had to turn it off cuz it was getting chilly in the car..
Any suggestions??

Is your AC compressor kicking on? You should be able to hear it easily. If so, pick up a cheapo R34 recharge kit that has a gauge and check the level.

+1 on getting a pressure gauge. But you should also check for HVAC codes and VAG codes, search the forum this has been covered a million times lately. Go from there to determine if you have a leak, a bad pressure switch, or a some other bad A/C component.

There isn't a fan for the condensor, just fresh air flow in front of the radiator. The secondary fan should come on, though. But that just helps keep your engine cool while the load of the AC is on.

I must be crazy, wow. I swear I don't remember there being a fan in front of my condensor. Is there not one for 1.8? Hmm.

Yeah there isnt one in front of the condenser.. there are two behind the radiator and condenser, a belt driven one, and an electric fan for added cooling and/or to pull air through the condenser for the A/C.
