Default Close to the 150,000 mark

I will soon be hitting the 150,000 mile mark on my car another 5,000 and she'll be there. I am now starting to wonder what I need to do to keep her on the road. Timing belt? Water pump? Not really sure. I am running a 96 2.8 quattro. Thanks

By the time you hit 150k you should definitely have done two timing belt services (including serpentine belt, tensioners, rollers, water pump, and thermostat). You may have failing wheel bearings and control arms to look forward to as well. Take a look farther down the forum for the thread called "Things that go wrong with ALL A4s" and you'll get a good idea of what others have had to deal with.

Depends on the shop you take it to. I was gonna do just one, and the shop would charge me $270. With the wheel bearing from Pap-parts; which cost 60 shipped, they got down to 170. I ended up doing at a friends shop, who charged me 100 ( that was only for 1 wheel bearing) It all depends on shops, or if you know how to do it yourself, there are helpfull DIY reviews out there, Like this one here http://www.audiworld.com/tech/wheel47.shtml

The bearing is about $47 shipped from www.germanautoparts.com and most people have said that they're paying $250 or so for parts and labor at a shop, so figure that the shop probably charges close to $100 for the bearing and $150ish for labor (seems about right - two hours or so). Don't forget though that when the spindle is removed (at least on the rear) the camber adjustment bolt is removed as part of the process, so if its location wasn't marked before disassembly, you're going to have to align the car - that's extra and not included in the shop's quote.
