i was driving today and and my clutch decides to completely fall apart on me and i was wondering were i should get a clutch from and how hard it is to change and how much you think it would cost to take it to some one and get them to do it i found one at autozone for 205.99 and i really need one soon as possible oh and my car is a 2001 a4 2.8 awd

do not buy a garbage clutch from autozone. pm mike@dth about it he will be able to help you. what do you mean by 'fall apart' and 'boom'? did the disk explode or did you just loose the pedal? any mechanic is going to charge you around 8 hours of labor for it.

well like i completely was just driving and and then down shifted and got on the gas and the rpms just went up and i didnt go anywhere and then so i pulled off to the side of the road and made sure nothing really bad was happening and then went to go and pull off and it did it again

ok so its just slipping real bad. if it had exploded that could be really bad because the pieces could crack the transmission and destroy a lot of stuff in there.
