Default Clutch rattling and pedal vibrating=?`

So I think im in need of replacing my throw out bearing but I want to make sure this is correct. At idle and in neutral there is a rattling noise and if I press the clutch down less noise occurs. Also while in gear driving around town I can feel a vibration in the clutch pedal while shifting gears. If anyone has some input on this it be greatly appreciated.

Sounds a LOT like the throw out bearing but could also be the input shaft bearing. Either way it sounds like the trans is coming out. But don't just assume that. It could really be anything though...Would you get it done by someone or attempt to fix it yourself?

well i wouldnt be opposed to doing it myself. just depends on how involved it is to do. I had a talon and did a clutch job on that and it wasnt too bad but not too sure on audis. I have the funds to get it done so thats not a problem. Just not sure if I want to pay for it to get done. I will prob do the s4 clutch if I have to take out the tranny. If its the input shaft, how hard is that to do?

Someone has gotta know what is going on with this or has had some of these symptoms before. Rather not start tearing things apart before knowing what is going on. If it is a throw out bearing I might as well do a clutch while in there. Was looking at the s4 clutch with 1040 steel flywheel from ecs, any thoughts?

Its tough to say. Was the talon the awd or just the fwd. It will def be a lot tougher on the audi and clearly a lot more expensive. The only thing you can do right now is take it to a VERY good reputable shop. If it is as little as a throw out bearing then that would be great at this point. But you don't want to hear that it is the input shaft itself because that means the trans will need to be worked on.

You can try to pull the trans but it sounds like it would be better to just have someone look at it

If you feel a vibration in the pedal it is most likely the throw-out bearing going bad.

Uhh, transverse setups are way harder than our cars, except maybe hondas. Trust me I'd know.
