Default Coilpack

So I am planning on replacing my coilpacks to see if it will solve a problem I have been having, and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good place to get them from.

Dealer only! Besides there is a recall on them , Audi is flipping the bill.

BTW What is the mysterious problem?

For the AWM engine the coils are 06A905115D for 15.75 each, plus 11.00 dollars UPS ground shipping. But with retail at 21.00 it would be faster and not that much more expensive for you to buy them at your local dealer. We would love to help you out and send you some if you can afford the wait time. Thanks, Jeff.

Are you sure it's only $21? I've been getting ripped off then.

List price at every dealer is 21.00 for that part number, some dealers may use an inflated list price. I think what may have happened is that p/n started as 06b-905-115L for 21.00, went to 115N but still 21.00 list price, then went to 06B-905-115-R for 32.00 retial, then to 06a905115d for 21.00 retail. So you must have bought them during that higher price transition?

Yes that is correct. It is due to the recall. If there was no recall they would be $65 each.

Makes sense. I haven't bought them ever since the recall. I had them replaced and they have been working good ever since. I remember I used to pay around $40 for each. And before those updated ones, it used to give out about once every 3 months.

Would something wrong with my coilpacks cause high rpm misfires, and would it also cause my rpm meter to dance at idle?
