Default Cold air intake for an a4

my 1999 A4 has 160000miles and is in dire need of a new air filter. I'm in the process of putting the head back on with a new water pump and belts etc and thought it would be a good time to put on a cold air intake while the front clip is off. do you have a recommendation? or will it make a difference?

Dont change the box the oem is the best one you can get unless u wanna spend like $300 best thing to do is a drop in k%n filter and leave it alone and dont put alot of oil on the filter just very little

I put a cone filter on the end of my MAF and DIY'd a heat shield. Not as good of a "ram air" setup as the OEM air box but it sounds cooler lol.

The K&N filters come pre oiled. Do not add more oil to the already oiled filter.

Thanks everyone. I pick up the K&N tomorrow. I hope to be able to hear the turbo better.

I wouldn't go K&N... Amsoil please. Long life without oil that gets on my MAF.
