Default coolant leak coinciding with a timing belt thats going bad?

Please excuse my flurry of recent posts, as I just got my license back, and am now starting to notice the problems my car is having. My 2001 1.8, with 97k, has had a slow coolant leak, coming from God knows where. In anyone's experience, would this coincide with a timing belt that's on it's way out? I know this is a big problem for these vehicles, and generally happens around this amount of mileage. Any input would be great.

No your coolant problem has nothing to do with your timing belt going out...where does it seem to be leaking from...I had a bad leak in my car this past winter and it was my coolant flange that had a hole in it...the flange is located at the back of the eingine by the cat. Try that and see if thats where its leaking from...that flange is only like $40 or so
