Default could that be?

today i changed my oil, both the oil pan and the tranny were both wet with oil but i couldnt find a leak. i then decided to look on the driver side valve cover gasket cuz i havent replaced that one yet, and there was a little leak on it. could that be causing the whole mess under the car? or am i facing two different leaks? give me some ideas

I don't think anyone will be able to tell for sure, best thing you could do would be to take off the belly pan clean up the underside as best you can. Then park over top of a bunch of newspaper for a day or two and see what drips where.

Things being "wet" can be deceiving. The first time I changed the oil/filter on my avant i spilled some (ok a lot) of the oil out of the filter. I thought I had it cleaned up pretty well before I buttoned everything back up, but when I went to do the next oil change, that whole side of the engine was covered with a greasy film of oil.
