cruise control switch question
My cruise went out a while ago.
Found a post online about cleaning out the switch with electrical connection cleaner, by popping the on/off/resume switch cover off, and spraying cleaner in there.
Good news is it worked! Cruise is working again!
The question......
When I popped the cover off, a small rod-shaped magnet fell out. While the cruise works, if I hold accel, it accelerates, but when I let go it doesnt hold the speed. If I hit the set button it sets the speed fine. So, obviously the magnet has something to do with this.
Does anyone know how this magnet goes in? Does it go inside the spring that connects to the switch cover? Or, where does this magnet belong in there?
Thanks for any advice.
