Default Cup Holders!

I have a 98 Audi a4 1.8tqm and if you don't know all they have is can holders instead of cup holders. Has anyone been able to do a mod that puts the cup holder in the dash that pops out and under the arm rest. Suggestion please! I hate spilling drinks in my car.

I'm with you on that. Crazy Germans, what were they thinking!?!

I had a full 44oz drink cartwheel across the passenger seat of my car once. Never again!

Sorry, never heard of a mod like that before.

Were you thinking of making the cup holders wider or deeper? or both? My in-dash cup holder is broken anyway, I may try to fix and alter it when I get back to the states. No loss if I screw it up, I needed a new one anyway.

so basically you want to jack the cup holder out of a facelift b5 and put it in a non-facelift. That should be decently simple I think.

Also Germans don't eat in their cars apparently, they devote themselves to driving and to the road instead of to their big macs (OR so I've heard).

I think my idea should work but I've never done it myself.

taco bell cups fit in the cupholders under the arm rest for me... guess cause they have a skinny bottom half. but yes i know what you mean, i always have what ever drink i got either on my lap or on the floor cause it doesnt fit in the cup holder.. and i dont have the pop out holder in the dash anymore since my TT is there now

Eating Taco Bell and 44 Oz soda drinks will rot your insides and turn you into a fatty, artery-clogged, diabetic mess, in which case you won't be able to use you hands because of the loss of circulation. Hell, after a while, you wont even fit into your Audi, so you won't need a cup-holder anyway!

But seriously. Why do you need giant cup-holders in your car? Americans have been complaining about the lack of cup-holders in German cars since Porsche was brought here back in the '50s. Car are meant for driving, not dining in.

A road trip without a giant beverage of some sort is just out of the question for me. Which is why I am so enthusiastic about this thread.
