CV Boot weeping grease
2000 a4 1.8t 130,000 miles
Replaced the rt, front, outside, boot several weeks ago, small split caught early so didn't remove all the grease (from removed joint) and added all of new grease back. Technically, that is excess grease in boot. Also, note that the axle shiny black coating has come off mine so the small end surface for the boot to clamp to is not perfectly "clean" even though I buffed it up a little.
SO, I've got grease "weeping" past the boot clamp on the small end. Did I not burp it? will it settle down at some point? How can it come out of the small end when I would expect it to be "thrown" by rotation to the large end.
Thanks
