Default Damage assessment: valves bent from broken timing belt

I am thinking about buying a 2000 A4 1.8T quattro 5spd.
It is not running, shop states low compression, bent valve when timing belt broke (but initially claimed no contact evidence on piston heads, but found bent valves when putting new timing belt on).

What do I have to prepare myself for to fix the car?
- replace bent valves?
- new complete used head
- other parts that suffer?

I want to get an idea/estimate what I am getting into (and if it is worth the effort/time/risk).

new valves and new pistons/rings usually. if you can get it for cheap, i'd go for it.

Valves is ok (or used head), but pistons/rings scares me (have to remove and open the engine).

It has 140k on it. I offered 1,500 without seeing the less (less, if more issues surface when inspecting, like suspension, brakes, turbo, oil/leaks, etc.).

Asking is 2,500.

wtf, that asking is way too much for a motor that doesn't run. imo even 1500 is too much. 1000 max. if you're afraid of replacing pistons, either find somebody who will do it for you or just try it out lol. you can see the pistons when the head is off

WAY to much! I paid $2500 for mine and it just needed an axle and a lil body work!

Well, she just informed me that he has already received an offer for 1800. So, on to another project, I guess.
