Would it be worth it to get two new doors and then repaint the whole car?

Just wondering....

It hurts me so much to see it like this... I've asked multiple people and they're not sure as well...

Even some body shops have told me it's totaled, and others said it's fixable for a hefty cost...

Go to a local body shop and get an estimate. The insurance companys almost always lowball you. You can also call Shokan and get a price on 2 doors. It's hard to tell from the pictures if there is strutural damage to the frame.

Also if it wasn't your fault, you can fight to have it fixed, don't settle the claim.

First off...this wasn't your fault, so go find a lawyer who works on a contingousy (sp?) basis. As here in Florida you have to carry a minimum of $10,000 coverage, so if where you live as the same laws or similar then you can get some money...so if the car is totaled or the lawyer is good he will get the other person's insurance company to cut you a check for $10,000 and then take his 33 1/3 out of that...so you get $6664 and he gets $3336. If he takes the case and can't get any money out of it, since he works on a contgency basis, then you don't pay him anything.

Then this is what I would hope for:

1) Insurance company total's it out and cuts you a check

2) Ask the insurance company how much they would sell it back to you for or where are they going to put it in auction at, as you may be able to get the car back very cheap and then figure out if you want to get new doors and have the car painted or not.

Alot of my friends, including me in the Lightning & Harley Davidson F150 community have done this over and over again. The most recent was a buddies Lightning was totaled...insurance company gave him a check for $15,000 (He kept all his receipts for aftermarket and add on parts), then they sold the totaled truck back to him for $3500 and he parted it out making $8000 and just gave away what he couldn't sell to others who said they wanted it (they just had to pay shipping)

This way you can choose what you want to do with the car....fix it or sell off the parts and get another car.
