Difficulty buying an A4 rant..
Guys,
Why is it SO DIFFICULT to purchase an A4?!
I've searched Craigslist & autotrader for an A4, Manual, Under $5,000 and the results are so depressing it makes me want to give up.
I drove an hour south to see a car that looked showroom condition on CL (and the pictures he txt me) but like a used and abused rally car when I saw it.
I then drove 210 miles north to see this car:
A4 audi, 2001, stage 2, low miles, quattro
That was so beautiful but had a cylinder misfire every time I got above 4k RPM's and the AC wasn't blowing cold.. the guy told me it was perfectly running (-_-)
Any advice?

It's really hard in SoCal as well... particularly Orange County where I live. I searched for a year to find my 2001 A4 1.8TQM. It's very difficult to find a decent 1.8T, Quattro, manual transmission, with the car not looking like utter crap, and costing less than $4,500 for >100,000 miles.
For the life of me I couldn't find a manual 1.8t that wasn't clearly abused or damaged. In fact the car I ended up buying was in a different league than the rest, if those cars were considered average I can see why they have such a bad rap with most people. I never ended up finding a good 1.8t, I found that 2.8s are better cared for in general.

OP, keep looking, you'll find one. If you settle for less than what you want (and you want a 1.8TQM
) you'll regret it later.
To bad you live so far away I love my a4 manual 2.8 it has a few things wrong but it hasn't even hit 112,000 miles yet and I am only asking 3,750... I live in northwestern section of Ohio.. It's far from perfect but I think it's not that bad!
