Do I need premium?
the octane boosters will run you more money. a whole can only raises it a few points. you can run xylene or toluene. you can get them in bulk from chemical supply stores for pretty cheap but it'll probly still be cheaper in the long run if you buy premium.

So is there anything else I should know before becoming a B5 owner?

Thats a perfect starter car. Looks great, reliable and totally different from rice rockets these teens run around in. I dunno, but my car runs better with the premium, it guzzles 87 like nothing.
cougar=girl car= THE money pit car(not to make fun of you chaos). you'll buy it and so many things will go wrong you'll be paying for another car when you add up all the repair costs lol
Audi it is then. Hopefully I'll be getting it for my birthday this September. And how are Audi manual transmissions? If I do get the B5, it'll be my first time driving a manual. Is it easy to drive one? It looks kind of complicated.
Its not too bad when i bought mine i didnt know how and that poor clutch endured alot that first day or two but after that you dont have much choice but to learn when u have to get to work...the a4 is a great first car it wasnt mine but im only 18 and i went thru my other cars pretty fast till i found one i liked lol i love it and couldnt ask for much more from a car
Yeah its better for the engine in the long run... It will run better and better milage and do buy it I have a 2000 1.8t mtm and it really built to last and smooth.. My car has 124000 miles on it and no squeks funny noises nothing at all.. It starts every time blows no smoke and really handles imensly well! Enjoy the car in good health!

I'll try. But I found a pretty tempting 2000 Mercury Cougar V6 with a 5-speed. It's only going for $2,999 and it has 75,000 miles on it.
