Does this TRE look normal to you?

Default Does this TRE look normal to you?

Hey guys,

So I purchased the control arm kit from FCP Groton and I chose option #3 with the full metal tie rods. Here is a picture of the tie rod, does it look ok to you? I find the end part (bushing I guess) seems to be like flattened out or something, is that normal? Usually all the TREs I've seen have a fat bushing.

I'm not sure if that is normal for A4's, but that is a very badly machined piece.

This is what I mean by they are normally fat, here is a pic of the other TRE I have:

This one has a much fatter bushing compared to the first one I posted. Is that first one just made that way?

what youre referring to is called the dust boot, not the bushing. it seems flatter because they used a dust boot that is not the right size (its too high) and so it is compressed to fit into the necessary space. as long there is no grease leaking out of it, i would say you have nothing to worry about
