just add oil when light comes on. it doesn't burn oil during combustion, it leaks out while lubricating the seals and is evaporated. all to the good.

you shouldnt be going threw that much... I have $$ saying you don't allow your turbo to cool down before shutting it off....

my car burns about a quart inbetween changes but then again i use mobil 1 10w40 and my car has 200k miles. if you smell oil under the hood i can almost guarentee its the PVC hose under the intake manifold, atleast that was the surce of oil leak/smell on my dads 1.8t

I always let my car idle for about 3-5 minutes (gives me time to answer all the texts I got while driving) and cause it still heatsoaks after I turn it off. I looked around today, and didn't see any leaks, but to make a long story short, a section of my DV piping is clear, and that is completely black with oil... Would that mean I'm loosing it via turbo? I'll go out now, and poke around the head and see if I can spot any obvious leaks.

oil in the DV hose is normal since oil vapor is sucked out of the crank and passes thru the turbo inlet.
