Default Door lock issues

Ok so 00 a4 1.8t QM. The problem the drivers door if you lock it with the key and arm the alarm it will work but when you try to unarm it with the key the lock it self will unlock but the alarm won't disarm and when you open the door obviously the alarm goes off but if you try to put key in door and disarm it it won't the alarm will continually goes off and have to disconnect battery to get it to stop. I swap the central locking pump with an extra and still the same. Do I need to use graphite on the door locks or something to free up the lock or what is the issue thanks in advance

I had the exact same issue;

FOB didnt work so everything was done with the key itself. Locking, locked the door and turned the alarm on, but unlocking only unlocked the door. As soon as I opened the door the alarm would start going off. I went the other route and disconnected the wires in the back of the CLP.

I'm afraid you're not going to like my answer on the fix though, I replaced the CLP with one I bought off ebay and everything righted itself.

Through a series of me being an idiot, I messed up the CLP again and I have a new one that will be here in two days. I can report as to whether that one works as well as the first replacement or not. If not, you probably got a bad replacement CLP and will need another one.

Hmmm I guess I don't know sorry. All I can say is that my locks/alarm were doing as you described and were fixed with a new CLP. Did you also sync the keys to the car once the new CLP was in? That may have something to do with it, I'm not really sure.

This may not be much help, but it's an idea:

I got my new CLP and it wasn't working fully (pump and alarm worked but the FOB didn't). What I had to do was drive the car around once and re-sync the key and everything was working perfectly.

If you've got the CLP from the old car in there, I'd try taking it for a drive once or twice then see if the issue still persists.

For what it's worth, my theory is that taking the battery off causes the electronics them to drain (capacitors?). You'll need to go for a drive to put some electricity through them (for them to charge) for everything to work properly.

Damn I thought I had it there. Actually I read elsewhere that somebody had to drive around then sync the keys for them to work... but I was passing the info along as it fixed my issue.

Okay, one last stab at this, and yes I'm still convinced it's the CLP.

Did you have the same model CLP between the two cars. It should be relatively the same but I believe there are different series' of them: a 'B', an 'N', and I think one other.

If those were the same between both cars, I officially give up.

They key cylinder switch could be damaged, or the wiring from that switch to the CLP could be damaged. Sounds like the key is mechanically unlocking the door but is not sending a signal to the CLP.
