Default Double DIN Swap

okay so im upgrading my single din to a 2002 S4 Double din. i bought a blank center console. radio cage and radio, i know i still need a hvac which ill eventually get, unless i can use my current one. so i know i think i still need a radio trim. heres pics of what i ordered. lemme know what i still need so i can have this completed.

can i use the top half of my single din and attach it to the rest of this? like the part with the hazard switches cup holder and fog switches?

i know its been done and someone on here has done it, i just spent like 30 min searching through old posts and couldnt find much.

I've been wanting to do this since I got my car. I've searched as well and have the same unanswered questions you do. Good luck on the install

Well I'm getting an s4 shifter surround. I'm doing full s4 interior conversion. All the above parts are from an 01 s4. I'm gonna try an get the shifter surround of the guy he gave me free shipping on everything else I buy since I bought 5 things from him so far. The hvac shouldn't be hard to get the same guy is asking 90 for it an that's a bit too much. I'll have to look around. I'm sure my hvac will fit until I get a new one. It will just look weird

Why not go for a GPS/screen unit?

I'm not big on the rns cause u need a DVD to use the navi. I'd go for a pioneer or clairon lateron. Right now I like the stock look. Plus I'm saving my money for at->mt swap parts

The double din hvac is lower but also wider and curved. There's no bezel for it where on the single the radio bezel covers over it.
