Question Driver side interior/door light

Neither of these lights come on when i open the door. Is there a fuse or something that would be just to those lights or would this be a wiring issue somewhere? Looking for some direction before i start ripping **** apart to fix this.

Did you have the map light in the on position? Sometimes this does it for me. Check owners manual for fuse guide. Unlikely, but maybe burnt bulbs? Switch one with one from passenger side to check.

On mine the door switch is located in the door handle. The problem is that the switch supplies the ground connection for that light. I tested mine by pulling the footwell light and grounding the negitive (green) wire. The light came on as well as the puddle lamp and overhead light. The real fix would be to get inside the door and remove or repair the switch inside the latch! ugh... lots of work. My fix was to install a $5 GMC door switch in the side fuse panel access door and wire one side to ground and the other side to the negitive of the footwell light. When the door opens the switch completes the circuit and supplies the needed ground to that light. I found this fix on AudiWorld, but for the life of me I can not find that post now to give credit to the dude who fiqured it out. Anyway, thanks dude good trouble shooting.
