Ebay control arms: Legit?
Ok, so I've been pretty aware my front suspension has been on its way out for a while now, I've posted about it before so for some of you, this isn't new news. With that knowledge in mind, I started shopping for a full control arm kit; figured even though its the passenger side that is the worst, I may as well do both all at once and save a couple pennies. ecstuning.com has a full package consisting of all 8 arms, ball joints, bushings, tie rod ends and sway bar links and all required hardware, listed for about 580 and some change. Wanting to take care of some other maintenance/replacements/upgrades all at the same time, I started shopping around for other similar packages for maybe cheaper and found this package on ebay for almost half the price. It says in the item description "factory and aftermarket..." and also lists this set as new, as well as all the OEM part numbers with a one year warranty to boot so am I safe to assume that if I got this package, I'd be safe trusting them on my car? I know a lot of people look down upon using ebay for upgrades/mods/replacement parts for our cars, but saving that 300 bucks would help A LOT, so any input would be much appreciated.
TIA guys,

That kit looks fine, for the price.
There are only a few companies that make them, and pretty much seem to be all of similar quality.
The fun part is going to be putting them all back on. I'd reccomend doing one piece at a time, rather than pulling them all off at once. it's a real beotch to get them all recconected once they all have been removed.
The challenging one will be the lower that the shock is connected to.

Thanks for the input guys, I'm pleased to hear that there is a kit for just the uppers. I'm not sure the condition of all of them, but I know they're getting ready to go. I have a friend from high school that is a mechanic for a local dealer and has worked on Audis, bimmers and vdubs a lot and knows his way around them so I'm gonna have him take a look and tell me what exactly needs replaced and if it is just the uppers, I'll just go with that kit. Part of me wants to just get it all done at once just to be safe so I may go with the full kit anyway.
Thanks for the advice on doing them one piece at a time, Acetrebo, I probably would have just pulled it all apart and realized my folly when trying to put it back together, but doing it one piece at a time sounds like a much better method.

From FCP's website:
About the manufacturers:
At FCP our #1 goal is quality and service, which is represented by our outstanding feedback. We know when it comes to Audi steering and suspension components, simply all parts are not the same. We continuously inspect the ball joints and bushings for premature wear. If we feel a part is of inferior quality we immediately remove it from inventory and replenish stock with that of a different manufacturer until we are happy with the end product to our customers. For that reason, at any given time we our kits could be consist of such companies as Karlyn Industries, URO parts, PEX NA , Moog, TRW, or Meyle. When you buy FCP, you not only buy quality but our guaranteed that we are continuously inspecting everything we ship out. Bid with confidence.
Interesting. Who knew EBay could actually have a good deal AND be a good quality?!
