Ecu chipped

Default Ecu chipped

99 b5 with chipped ecu not sure how it works, there's a button causes check engine to flash need help how to properly use this read forum some say can switch different programs really don't explain much but if anybody have a similar set up or know about this set up would appreciate the help so i coulf be able to use it properly.

It might have a feature that throws a CEL no matte what. I made sure mine wouldn't do that before I had it tuned. What codes are you getting?

Well say if I push button once it will flash once push twice it will flash twice don't know this indicates 1 would be stock mode 2 chipped mode I started to to play with it say I follow sequence until the 4 flash then stops if hold button down about say 3 sec it will flash 4 times. So yup hope u could help me on this called apr really no help.

Any changes in boost or idle RPM when switched into different "modes"?

I know at first before finding button to ecu my boost was around 7 to 8 psi don't know what setting I switched into i believe it was 2 n went for a test drive and my boost was over 15 psi so I'll go back play with it figure out setting, now ? Is what type of ecu would it be what stage?

That's exactly what it sounds like. Whoever had it chipped, must have had "on the fly" switching options built into it - via that switch.

How can I find out of its an Apr? or some other type of chip n what stage it would be?

I have no idea. I had my ECU custom tuned to my specs. My tuner writes the firmware to reflect what I want, then it's just plug -n- play.

I'm not a big fan of the "everyone has one of these, so you should too" (IE. I'm one of the only guys on here that rides 20"s), so that leaves me pretty ignorant to things like this.

You might be able to look at the top of the ECU and see if it has some kind of sticker on it.
