Electrical Issue
Hi, 1st let me say long time follower, but never have needed to post till now!
I have a '99 A4 1.8T
The issue:
Yesterday I drove to work (Ohio) and I had no issues. I parked went inside clocked in, and went to leave to go get McDonalds for breakfast! Well It's always a habit of mine that when I turn on my headlights on I turn on my fog lights, well they wouldn't turn on, I went down the road and went to turn and guess what no turn signals! Also not working is the blower motor for the heater, it will say its on but nothing is blowing. Also the wipers are not working. This all came at once! There are no blowen fuses, I'm stumped as to why all this would stop working at one time! Its about 23 degrees outside when I go to work and I need my heater!!!! Any Ideas would be much loved!
If you need anymore info let me know!

Looks like you will need someone with a vag-com my friend. A relay could be it, but they do not share the same relay. The blower has its own relay...and also has a resistor, that could be one thing, the headlights have their own relay, one for hi and one for low beam, and also turn signal relay is built in to the hazard relay. A vag-com can dig into the electrical system and find faults that regular troubleshooting would otherwise resolve in seconds. But those the possible culprits that can afftect you.......and YES A WIRING DIAGRAM WOULD BE NICE!!!!!
does anyone here have one???? How come one has not been shared here to begin with??

Maybe your ignition switch. It's a common problem and Audi even recalled it a while back. Try moving around your key to see if you get your accessories back.

^^^^Indeed it can be, would explain everything. However thats easy to test, if it acts up again he can just jiggle the key in the ignition (with the lights on) and see if they flicker on or not, if they do you just struck gold.
My neighbor has a vagcom but I don't even know where to begin to use it! When I turn on my turnsignals there is nothing, but my hazards do work, none of the above is tied together that is why I'm at such a loss. I guess I will start with talking with my neighbor to see if he would help me with the vagcom. PS no I'm not one of those dbags, 6 out of 7 days heading to work is heavy fog! Gotta love crappy Ohio!
You know, I usually don't say anything when I see one of you little &^%*s jump on someone from a premature judgement, but there are plenty of reasons for using fog lights without fog. They also area valuble asset for watching for deer in this season. Early morning in any of these northern areas is known for heavy fog. Our cars are not factory equipped with driving lights so once again another good reason. I suppose I should disable my idiot lights and send them to you as I would have no use for them.
Ok I'll bite, what does immobilizer have to do with electrical issues in the ignition switch? No B5 A4 has immobilizer and audi had a recall for that exact issue for the 97-98 models......If he had a B6 A4 with intermittent starting problems i would say yeah.
