Anyone know the capacity of the engine coolant system on the 1.8t? My car was low (read: empty) on coolant so I added 1.5L of coolant and 1.5L of water (as per the 1:1 ratio). After running the engine for a while its now down past the minimum level so I'm wondering if the system just isn't full yet or if I have a leak somewhere. Also, I have smoke from the passenger side of the engine bay. Related to coolant issue? Separate issue? Thanks for help.

 

The 1.8 engine codes AEB, ATW take, generally, 7.0 liters.

If you find white smoke (steam) in the engine bay, I would check your hoses for leaks. I just went through that with the heater core feeder hose against the firewall. It was leaking and dripping on the exhaust.
