engine misfires at high rpms
I just had my head gasket replaced bc it was misfiring and blowing white smoke.i got it back sat and drove it for about an hour when the serpentine belt snapped. The check engine light flashed while it started misfiring a little before the belt snapped. I just had it replaced today along with the tentioner. My mechanic told me that the misifre was bc the tentioner was loose and the belt wasnt producing enough current from the alternator or somthing like that. When i got it back, it sounded and ran fine until i really got on the gas. When i reach high rpms like 4000 and over it starts to misfire and the check engine light starts flashing, but then turns off in a few seconds. What could be the cause of this? I just want this pos to run good again. I had the timing belt, head gasket, waterpump, and serpentine belt all replaced within a year. What else can go wrong? He told me the engine and turbo look in good shape and that it should run a long time. It has 150000 miles on it and I really dont want to get rid of it bc i wont get what i want for it.
I see you have a MBC listed as a mod. What type of controller is it? Bleed type? Whats your boost set at?
It sounds like you have the wrong type of controller and/or the boost too high with out any fuel support, and without a tune, the mid range spike will run you stupid lean.
However you ARE an 01, so you can do the diode mod and run about 15 psi on the stock system
