Default engine sludge? pic

I took off the lock carrier to do my timing belt and saw that all of my gaskets were leaking. Took off my valve head covers and found this yellow stuff on the underside. It has the consistency of heavy lard. I'm afraid of how much of this stuff may be in the engine... going to take off the oil pan. Anyone have experience with this yellow stuff? Best way to clean out the engine? (I used seafoam less than a year ago, apparently that didn't work...) OBD2 said there were no codes...

If you figure it out, lemme know. I couldn't figure it out on my car for the life of me.

Are you having or had coolant/water in the oil before? Those things will stick inside pan and stuff. I've seen them before in old engines. Pretty heavy stuff that won't be removed by just Seafoam. I had to use brake cleaner and wire brush to get them off the oil pan.
