Hey all i just bought my first 1997 audi A4 and was wondering if it were possible to convert my stock instrument cluster to a Euro cluster with kilometers instead of miles an hour?

 

You can use a VAGCOM to switch the displayed units on the screen from english to metric units. You could also buy a euro cluster that shows kph only and not mph and kph..

I've wanted to do this swap also. not sure if a km/h cluster would be a direct swap with the connectors but the easiest/cheapest way to get one would probably be from someone in canada. I've seen some non oem km/h gauges on ebay too. if you do this, post a thread about it!

I must be getting old. I'm all for euro-ness, but I don't see the point in going to kph when you are driving in a country where the standard for measuring speed is in mph. Can't you just pay attention to the little red kph #'s on the speedo and invest the money you save into an IRA? jk.

 

why dont you just move to europe? my old home!

 

I'm pretty sure it's just a paper inlay... You could make one and have it say whatever you want as long as you scale it correctly
