Default Exhaust

Ok so I was wondering what was the best way to go with exhaust for the 1.8t? I was thinking of something like magnaflow, any suggestions?

I know there are aftermarket exhausts for the 1.8, but i hear the best way to go is to get a Magnaflow or Flowmaster muffler, and then have a muffler shop fab up the rest. That way you can take the resonator out if you want, and the price is pretty comparable to buying a cat back or something. GL!

What muffler would be the best and not sound ricey, i like the sound of the ones on the newbie page but they dont tell you what they are other than magnaflow

I suspect that it's kinda hard to make a "ricey sounding" car with a turbo on the butt end of the exhaust. Turbos act like mufflers of sorts, slowing the exhaust energy and converting it into... um... fun.

I'm in your boat, wanting to do something custom, but I would suggest sticking with a German brand. Keep it real.

Yeah you don't have to worry too much about the ricer sound, but stay away from the ebay fart can mufflers for the love of god. Ya know those ones you see on every other honda accord along with LED washer nozzles and a 3 ft. aluminum wing LOL

Yeah that sounds pretty good to me. I dunno about 15 hp that seems a bit high but 285 sounds decent for the muffler and labor. magnaflow sounds badas$ too
