Exhaust System
Hey guys my muffler was beat up so i bought a used remus off a good friend and he gave me everything from the cats back but on his setup he took off the resinator saying..."with it on there isnt much of a difference from stock..im not lookin for alot of nois but a little and i was wondering if taking the resinator off will make it sound like a honda and what is the purpose thanks guys...
If it makes any difference i got a 2000 2.8

the resonator is just a way to keep the system quieter . here is a clip of a remus http://youtube.com/watch?v=8MXdgWOcM8I I think it is with no resonator
At idle the remus sounds almost stock with the resonator. But driving around you'll notice the difference. My plan is to remove the restrictive resonator and replace it with a magnaflow muffler.
yea the Remus will sound great without a resonator. It will be very loud though, you will have alot of noise in the cabin...esp at highway cruising speeds, so keep that in mind. I know because I have a remus muffler on my 2.8 with pipe instead of the mid-muffler. Here is what mine sounds like, http://media.putfile.com/Remus
