finally! I think...
Well after al kinds of hold ups I'm getting the wrecked 01 a4 quattro I bought back togther, but It seems with every little victory theres a new question that seems rediculous, these cars seem to not have a lot of ready info supplied in the mainstream....here's todays question...while reinstalling the right rear tail light that got smashed in wreck I found the replacement did not have the bulb mounting bracket...luckily the old one was still useable but all bulbs were junk so I replaced those 3 single filiment and 1 double filiment and proceeded to put the bulb bracket into tail light housing only to find that the top hole is oval and won't accept a bulb even tho there's an socket for the bulb in the light bulb mounting bracket...so I checked the left side and yep there's 4 bulbs there and regular hole for bulb in the top of that light....so whats up with this? anyone know...why the friggen hell would left side have 4 bulbs and right side only three?... wrecked lense/housing was the same....thanks now...cliff
only the left side has a fog light which is the top bulb. its the rear foglight. dont put one on the right side you dont need it you shouldnt be using your rear foglight anyways they are pointless unless its heavy snow, rain, or fog
Hi Dan, Thanks for quick reply...I'd considered that and was a bit miffed that all the single bulbs were same size not what you'd expect from a fog lite....Now though, I'd ponder why there was only one fog light in back...and if it were in the center I'd wonder less....thanks, cliff
Some audis came with either 1 rear fog on the driver side and some came with 2. Your old one must have had both while the light you got came from one with only one. You could modify the the hole where the bulb goes so it will fit. It is a nice feature to have.
