Default flip broke today

my key broke today at the base of the flip part. now in order to open and start my car i have to the key part in 1st then slide the base in and its annoying and scare of losing the key.

does anyone knows the going rate for another key? or can i buy a new base and put my key part in it.

also do they make these keys regular without the flip for a spare?

this never happened to me before even on my benz jeep that ive owned since new .

That sucks!

From what I've heard, Volkswagen dealers would do it cheaper than Audi's.

When I bought the car, it came with different sets of keys. I can't really recall the details but one of the keys was actually the valet key, which is just a the key it self with no remote.

When I bought my car, it only had one key. I got a regular-*** key, no remote or switchblade, cut for $60 from the dealer. That might be the way to go

^ What year is your car? I know certain years only have the remote/key not a fob.

You're right though, mine came with a seperate key and remote and the key had a little light in it lol. I've actually been looking for a new remote, mine hasn't worked since i got thrown in a pool with my keys back in July.

Stole your corner light? wtf?

I've heard of people getting their grille lowers snatched, but corner lights is a new one to me. Sorry to hear that man.
