FMIC installed! review and some q's.
so i put the FMIC on the car the other day with a few buddies of mine. it took about 4-5 hours to do everything, including mounting and fitting a brand new bumper thats never been on the car before. i gotta say it looks so mean sittin in the front of the car and since ive put it on the car feels amazing. the car finally has the power to put u in the seat. after the install i realized that im now running 10lbs of boost, and i think the main reason is cause now thehose from theIC pipingto the DV is on the inside, instead of being clamped to the outside. does anyone know if thats the reason, or if the FMIC would just make me boost more? and also is it a bad idea to run with the car set up like this?? its really just a temp fix but if its making me boost more and its safe i dont see the point in changing it. and anyone thinking about getting a FMIC do it it makes the car feel great, and ive never had more stares in my life!! the car also runs quieter now which is really nice.
Nice, I am looking into getting a FMIC too. What are the dimensions and where'd you get yours? I was looking at a few on ebay. You got any pics of the finished product?
How much power would a fmic give you? Is the extra power coming from the air entering the engine at lower temps? the ecu can very easily compensate for 1 more psi of boost.
depends on the core, your piping and your front bumper. yes the air entering the engine will give oyu more power but it can vary between 5-12 hp i believe. if your core is too big for your turbo you'll be setback though. tooextreme just like big things lol
a fmic should make it boost less, if anything. how is the turbo outlet pipe setup? its inside your fmic piping? how does it stay in there? if its not clamped down, the boost should blow it right off...
