Default F'n exhuast sleeves

Aftermarket one from FCP worked...with muffler paste for about a month. Went to the dealer and bought the "official" Audi sleeve. Only $21. That worked for one day.

I know other people have problems with those. How do I get it to seal completely!?

My '97 12v had two, they rusted and fell off. This car had one that rusted and fell off. I just bought a cat back lol. I would probably just take yours to an exhaust shop, forget about the sleeve clamp, have them weld the butt joint together and that'll be the end of it.

dont have them welded. some cockhole did that on my car and you have to drop the entire exhaust when you need it moved. ive had luck with the aftermarket sleeves at advanced, the ones that look like a sheet and you roll it to size. them impact that ****

I've looked at those before Jonesy. Might give that a try. Welding does seem like a bit of a pain in the ***.

One of the reasons I don't like the design of the SSAC exhaust. The downpipe goes all the way back to just before the resonator, so to get it off to get access to the cat or the turbine housing you have to drop the resonator, which requires dropping the rear muffler.

That brings back bad memories, that day I learned the exhaust physically can't come out as 1 piece when you disconnect it from the manifolds. Luckily I had a new catback going in so I hacked it up to pull it.
