Default Foglight Wiring help

i have some aftermarket foglights that are just wired to a simple switch that i put near the e-brake. the problem is they will stay on even after the car is off and the key is out of the ignition and kill the battery. i want to wire it somehow to the factory foglight switch so that i can use that switch to turn them on and off and so that when the key is out they will turn off. i already have the head unit and trim around the switch out but im not sure how to get the switches out so i can reach the wires. does anyone know how to do that and what wires i would have to splice into to do that? thanks!

You cant run them off the switch directly, you need to wire it to the fog light relay.

Just sounds like you wired your switch to direct 12 volt, if you want them to turn off with the key you need to power your aftermarket fog light relay with key power if your switch is using ground to activate the relay or if you are running 12v thru the switch to activate the relay you can change that power to key power. You should never power your fog lights with power directly from the switch, should always use a relay.
