Which Forge?

Hey guys,

Looking to upgrade my stock DV, and was wondering what the difference/pros and cons to the Forge Splitter and Forge 008 DV. Any advice or suggestions would be greatly appreciated! =)

The main advantage of metal piston-style DV's like both of the examples you posted is that they're rebuildable. They also (typically) come with a coupla different springs so you can use them effectively with different boost levels. Of the two you posted, the splitter will be a little bit louder, but beyond that its up to you. If you're going to keep the car mostly stock, a 710n DV from the 225hp TT would do just fine, that's what I'm running. If you're going to be running higher boost though, you may as well invest in a better DV now and just change the spring out later.

Ah, ok! Do you happen to how much boost the 710n can handle?

Sorry, missed that last post I guess. The 710n is fine for upwards of 15psi. Any more than that and I would upgrade to a piston style DV with a stiffer spring.

Some stage 3 S4 guys swear by 710N but i guess they have boost tuned down a bit. I personally have APR stg1 and its around 19-20 spike and 17.5 holding strong. DV was the first thing I upgraded on the car. I went with forge replica one because I did not want to spend $180 on one when I got one for much cheaper. Point is that with after market DV i can switch springs and adjust to my needs very easily. Also I would suggest looking into Adjustable DV that adjusts with a simple turn of the head on the DV.
