Default GIAC ecu CEL, no CEL with stock ecu

I have a 2000 A4 1.8t quattro
I had recently bought a used GIAC ecu that was used on 2001 1.8t FWD
The problem is GIAC ecu causes CEL to come on and it only boosts for the first mile or so and then goes into a limp mode.
Scanning it with vag com revealed following codes:
P1650 Powertrain Data Bus: missing message from instrument cluster
P1531 Camshaft timing adjustment: open circuit
P0135 Oxygen sensor B1 S1: heating circuit malfunction
P1103 Oxygen sensor heating: performance too low

With stock ecu car runs fine with no cel or boost issues.

I tried to recode GIAC ecu using vag com but it is unable to save changes, every time i try to recode it it resets to original settings.

Here's the screenshot of vag com with stock ecu:

and this is GIAC:

The soft code on GIAC ecu seems right for my car, however the country code is different

Did you re-gap the plugs, down from the stock .032" to a chip-friendly .028"? That'll be the first step.

I did, I replaced spark plugs with NGK BKR7E and gapped them at 0.028.
Also replaced O2 sensor with universal Bosch sensor and replaced stock DV with audi TT DV.
Why is country code on my stock ecu 07? if i remember right it's supposed to be either 06 or 16 for USA models.
What country is 07?

What are the part numbers on each ECU? Are they the same?

A 2000 1.8T would be an ATW while a 2000 is an AWM. The ATW and AWM have a number of significant differences in their electronics and functions.

If you are trying to use an AWM ECU on an ATW car you will have problems.

Part numbers are the same except that stock ecu ends with P and giac one ends with an M.
Mine is an ATW, I've done some research and I was under the impression that either ecu should still work fine. I thought that giac ecu just needed to be recoded.

All of my reading has indicated that you cannot swap an AWM ECU into an ATW car. It is looking for sensors and information that your car simply does not have.

The ATW is narrowband, the AWM is wideband with variable valve timing, hence the camshaft error. I can't recall if the ATW was CANBUS or not, if it is not, that is why you're getting an instrument cluster code as well.

I see. That makes sense. So I guess the only option is to sell it and buy one for my year.

Sorry man! The ATW was the bastard child of the 1.8T motors. You shouldn't have a problem selling the chipped ECU though. Good luck.

You could actually install the necessary components to run that ECU...
1.8T NARROWBAND TO WIDEBAND CONVERSION KIT | RACELINE-WS
(wideband conversion kit)

You would still get a fault from the lack of VVT, but that could actually be coded out from the ECU.
