Yup - aftermarket DV would be recommended after the chip.
Also if you can find a local shop that can do it would be great as they will probably back you up incase things go wrong with the chip.

Did they finally come up with a dyno-proven chart for Speedtuning yet?

Yes. Forge 007 is on its way!

Now I am confused. I just read the thread about the speedtuning group buy a while back and everyone seemed very happy with it. I WAS planning on doing the GIAC but now i am conflicted. WHICH ONE SHOULD I DO?

Does anyone know if there are specific performance differences between the two? I rarely go WOT if that helps.

Just go with GIAC. I've known of other guys that get cheaper tuners and their software is never as good as mine. I'm biased towards APR tuning since in my old ECU I was boosting 21psi and my newer (and free) Inmotion (copycat of GIAC) peaks at 17. I don't like the use of N75's and MBC's so I prefer going for the better known tuner, other one's arent as smooth or well mapped.

I started off with GIAC and that was way before Speedtuning. Since I was happy with it, I basically use GIAC tuning when it comes to upgrading and even custom tuning.

It's really up to you which company you want to go with. People here have said many good reviews about Speedtuning. My only concern is their lack of dyno to prove their claimed horsepower while GIAC provides you with dyno charts even with certain other mods such as exhaust etc.

The price difference is not really relevant so I have decided to go with the GIAC setup. I think that Speedtuning has a dyno chart up on their website so you could check that out.

Euro: When you talk about N75 I am assuming you are talking about a non-OEM or "race" version of the solenoid to hold higher boost pressure. I know ECS offers such a part on their website.

Anyway, I am going to put an order in with AWE. I will probably go for the Tip chip at the same time. I'll keep you guys posted after I re-install the ECU. I am certainly looking forward to seeing the results.

Cheers.
