Default got a CEL :(

ok so this morning on my way to school, as normal i backed out of my driveway drove a good 200feet before i got to the main road. and i was stopped waiting to turn for about 5 min. when it was clear, i turnerd... then my car jerked 2 times. so i eased off the gas and came to a red light... i saw my CEL was flashing... so immediately i knew i missfired. i shut my car off, turned it back on, it was still flashing, then it went solid. i dont have any codes yet, but i can scan my car later when im on my lunch break. idk if its the cold weather that caused it since i started my car and kinda just left. so yea....

Probably your icm or a coil pack. Cold weather shouldn't cause a misfire unless you are using the wrong heat range spark plugs.

i saw codes p0303 p0304 p0300 i misfired on cyl 3,4 and had multiple random, and there was another but i forgot i cleard the codes and ill see if they come back within in a few miles or so.

edit: forgot to ask, is there an equavlant to vag-com pc software that is free... totally free, not a limited use version. the vag-com i have is the free one, it tells me the codes, but says regester to see the description. so is there somethign out there i can use instead to see codes without having to pay 100$

Check to make sure the line from the turbo (I believe its actually the diverter valve)going to the intake is secure.

did you gap them correctly? since its on multiple cylinders its most likely the ICM not the coilpacks or plugs. but i would pm auditech79 to make sure

Just swap coil packs from 3 and 4 and put them on 1 and 2 and see what happens. If same, check the porcelin insulatator part of your plugs for hairline cracks. I had misfires a while back from that. Don't know if i torqued em to much or what, but it was 2 plugs (NGK). It would only miss under load. If not that then there isn't much else to suspect other than the icm. But I guess you are shipping your ecu to get shipped tomorrow so you can't do that now. Just fix it when you get your ecu back.

well i cleard the code and my car was driving normal since then... yea ill have to check my coil packs when i get my ecu back... oh speaking of that, do i need to get different coil packs now? i was looking on ECSTuning.com and they had Stage 1 2 and 3 coil packs, and i know the speedtuning chip is stage 2
