As I understand it, you can be cited for reckless driving in situations where you *weren't* going 80+ at the officer's discretion (which could then be argued about in court), but 80+ is automatic, no questions asked, you're f*cked.

I got an 83 in 65 in PA and just paid a fine! I was really doing triple digits so I wasn't going to argue!

I tried to find it but I wasn't able to... tried for 10 minutes or so... It wasn't that long ago that I read about it, maybe a year. It was most likely linked from Jalopnik.

In MA, it's 20+ MPH over the speed limit. I don't know if officers can do it at their own stupid judgement. But they can always make stuff up if they really want to give you the ticket.

People say to always fight tickets - well, especially true for reckless driving. It is a criminal charge. Get a lawyer if you have to. It WILL show on your CRIMINAL record.

same in MN, its 20+ over limit.

however "reckless" in MN is no different then a speeding ticket for going really fast.
with the exception it'll make ur insurance go up $30bucks instead of 20 lol.

reckless can also be ticketed to you for "reckless behavior" but 99% of the time u'll get a speeding ticket or attempted man slaughter.lol
